Restrictions

  • NIC.MX performs name server checks.
    When updating name servers, please make sure that they are correctly configured to serve the corresponding zone. If they are not an update will be denied by NIC.MX and you will be informed by our system via event.
  • Please Note: If you are using MX or US as country code in one of the contact handles (owner, admin, tech or billing contact), the field "state" becomes mandatory.
    In case of MX, the abbreviations of the different states cannot be used, wherefore the full name has to be given [1].

Transfers

.MX transfers are possible. Upon successfully transfering a domain, it is automatically renewed for one year. The registration period is extended by one year.

[COMMAND]
(required)
command = TransferDomain
domain  = yourdomain.mx
action  = request
auth    = ...

EOF

Transfer procedure

A .MX Domain Transfer must be initiated with a so-called Authorisation Code, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner or Admin-C of the domain.

Transfer time

A transfer can take up to 10 days to complete depending on the confirmation of the losing registrar. After 10 days without any action, the transfer is automatically approved.

Restores

Restores are possible. A restore can be requested via API command or via webinterface.

[COMMAND]
(required)
command = restoredomain
domain  = yourdomain.mx

EOF
