DPML and DPML Plus service of Donuts

Domains Protected Marks List (DPML) enables brand owners to block their trademarks from registration at the second level across all Donuts TLDs at a fraction of what it would cost to defensively register the terms in all of Donuts TLDs. Donuts applied for the rights to operate 307 new, generic TLD - all open, dictionary terms.

To use the service, brand owners must submit to their registrars as SMD file an exact match of their mark(s) - as validated by the TMCH - or a term that contains their exact match mark(s). That term is blocked from registration in all Donuts TLDs for an initial period of five years. A domain blocked by DPML is not functional, meaning it may not be used for a website URL, e-mail address or other type of domain related functionality. The DPML Plus service extends the period to ten years along other unique benefits. There is a significant fee for a 5-year / 10-year block across all Donuts TLDs. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, if the block is overridden.

Additional information about Donuts' DPML and DPML Plus Service can be found at https://donuts.domains/what-we-do/brand-protection.

DPML Override

DPML is designed to protect trademark holders from cybersquatting. It is not designed to limit other trademark holders. A DPML block on a specific domain may be overridden at any time, and the domain registered by any trademark owner with Sunrise rights to that domain. The party performing an override must have an exact match trademark for the domain and a valid signed marked data (SMD) file issued by the trademark clearinghouse (TMCH). There is a one-time override fee per domain (non-refundable) plus the annual registration fee. If you are interested in this service please write an e-mail to our support team.
